12.31.09 Essie (98) keeps us up celebrating!

This is "Aunt" Margaret, Esther's daughter. Esther is Chris' Grandmother. They are both the life of any party they attend. Margaret and her husband Derito have taken good care of us since we arrived.

Margaret has made all but the final cut for a new Fox reality show about cooking. It has been a fun process to experience with her. It is called Master Chef, starring Gordon Ramsey, and of course, we hope Margaret Bonicelli. Maybe you will get to know her too if she makes the cut. If not, you will meet the Bonicellis and "Essie" when you visit us here in KC.

Chris arrives to take over as the General Manager for the Kansas City division of Brown-Strauss Steel.

From the Kansas City Business Journal

Brown-Strauss Steel on Monday said it bought B-S Steel of Kansas Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
Though founded in Kansas City in 1905, Brown-Strauss moved its headquarters to Denver in 1983, the same year B-S Steel was founded. B-S Steel is based in Kansas City, Kan.
“This acquisition will help expand our footprint into the Midwest and open up a wide range of opportunities for us and for our customers,” Brown-Strauss President Michael Calvert said in a release. “Our access to an even larger range of mill sources worldwide will allow us to provide the most competitive pricing in the market.”
B-S Steel provides structural steel and tubing for the construction, petrochemical and automotive industries. Brown-Strauss Steel supplies wide flange beams and structural steel tubing. The former B-S Steel location gives Brown-Strauss seven locations throughout the country.
Calvert said the sales and support staff from B-S Steel will remain with the company.
Chris Gunderson was named as the new general manager of the Kansas City facility.
