5 AM practice make's a short night
Squeeze into suit that's feels nice and tight
Drive in the dark, you're committed no doubt
Dry land first, you must stretch out
Dive in the water, yikes its cool
Your home has now become the pool
Towel, googles, suit and cap
Getting ready is a snap
3 more hours each day after school
1000 yard sets are your tool
Cutting time to move up in the heats
Lots of hard work to get ready for the meets
It's time for a meet, so clear your mind
Freestyle 200 & 500, oh what a grind
On the blocks, in your prime
In these events you must drop time
Pull, pull, pull, kick, kick, kick
The easy road you did not pick
In the lead, don't look now
You just touched first, holy cow!
Tried your hardest, it was fun
Wait for the results, find out if you won!
Take me out with the swim team
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some goggles and Gatorade
Blue Valley North memories will never fade
So its root, root, root for the Mustangs
